Well take it the way you want a dynamic detoxification program, pure science or geometry.
Ratha Saptami is celebrated as Lord Surya’s birthday. And is one of the most awaited days for the yogis globally. We too at Dhrti enthusiastically look forward for this day to pay our respect to Surya and artistically perform Surya Namaskar
All the practitioners begin warming up themselves for this marathon from the Makar Sankranti day to reach the goal – 108 rounds of Surya Namaskar.
Why 108?
The Earth takes 108 steps around the Sun and the distance between the planets and the Sun is 108 times the diameter of Sun. And the diameter of the Sun is 108 times more than the diameter of Earth.
This geometry is also included in day to day life – the mala has 108 beads- as the planet takes 108 steps you take 108 steps too….so on the Ratha Saptami Day, at the crack of dawn, all gather and welcome The Lord Surya with mantras, get deeply involved with their Meditation – A Seamless Dance – with one aim in mind to achieve 108 Surya Namaskar “WITH EASE”…and yes its achieved.
When this and that is one…its Yoga as union happens..ISNT? The smile reflects all – here are the fortunate ones…………
